New version of SpecTcl (1st implemented in May 2023)

Instructions to get started

In this new version of SpecTcl, written by Simon Giraud in Python, Xamine is replaced for online and offline data analysis by the CutiePie window, while the Treegui and Spectcl control functions are retained from the previous version. To use this version, following these instructions:

  1. While in the S800 account, go to the SpecTcl working directory, e.g. /Simon/SpecJorge, and issue ./SpecTcl This command will open the Treegui, the SpecTcl control window and log window, and the CutiePie window.
  2. In the Treegui, load the definition file.
  3. In the SpecTcl control window, click on button right with green arrow to attach to data file (of type .evt) and let it run the data.
  4. Now click 'Get Data' on CutiePie.
  5. On CutiePie, click 'Load Geometry' and select the folder 'Windows file'. Here you will open a file of type *qtpy.win which will open a set of spectra from the data you want to look at.

You can now see and inspect your data set using CutiePie.
