- PTS typically services the defense, aerospace and telecom industries and is trying to move into the physics market \\
- participates in the xTCA coordinating committee \\
- promoting ATCA for core type applications that require larger processing power in a small space \\
- promoting uTCA for node type applications \\
- 2 types of chassis available for purchase and a third is in the development stage \\
- each one accommodates an MCH controller and sufficient space for 6x midsize boards \\
- clocks can be synchronized between multiple crates using an external source \\
- main differences are wrt communication capabilities \\
