CsI Water Damage Repair:

  1. Remove CsI crystals (56 out of 56) (11/15)
    • Dismantle telescopes
    • Store E, dE detectors
    • Unwrap CsI bundles
  2. Remove as much filter paper as possible from CsI (using ethanol and plastic scraper) (56 out of 56) (11/20)
  3. Document damage (depth on front surface) (56 out of 56)
  4. Detach photodiodes from each crystal (leave light guides on for now) (56 out of 56) (12/19)
  5. Remove remaining filter paper and light guide paint (56 out of 56) (12/19)
  6. MAchine crystals at WashU (56 out of 56) (1/18)
    • Driven down/back
  7. Sand sides of each crystal (56 out of 56) (3/14)
  8. Design and assemble lapping setup (4/14)
    • Setup machined with some problems
      • Lapping machine doesn't fit (FIXED)

  9. Clean photodiodes, reattach to light guides
