Digitalization Software

This is a simple program found hira/Digitalization/Digitalization.exe. It works best for digitizing data points (not as good for lines).

Instructions

  1. Load the graph (File→Open Graph)
  2. Choose error bars/no error bars as appropriate in top left
  3. Choose axes scales in top right-
  4. Type coordinates of the axes requested in the center box: the upper left hand corner and the lower right hand corner
  5. Click on the corresponding corners of the graph, first the upper left hand corner then the lower right hand corner. Try to match up the points with the axes as closely as possible.
  6. Now you can click on the points in your graph. Again, try to center the mouse cross-hairs as accurately as possible
  7. If the data is close together in the original graph you might consider changing the dot size (towards the bottom of the box: “Size of Dot”) the default is 8. Similarly, you can change the font size for when choosing the corners of your plot.
  8. After you have selected all the data, save the points by using File→Save
  9. In theory you can choose how to save the file, in the Property box click either “Save text as the same name of picture” (default) or “Save text in other name”. So far I have been unable to make the second choice work. The program will automatically save to the same filepath as your image.
